Design Review

Before you begin any exterior modification (architectural, landscape, paint, etc.), you must obtain approval from Architectural Plan Review, even if your modifications are congruent with Veramendi design standards.

Let’s face it, we all have different tastes and styles. The design review process provides consistency in the quality of all exterior home improvements, emphasizes the natural characteristics of the area, and supports the community vision.

What's Architectural Plan Review?

Architectural Plan Review is a third-party firm contracted by Veramendi to review and process applications for residential exterior improvements. Depending on the type of modification, a fee will be collected via credit card when you submit your online application.

To get started, review the tips below along with the online application to ensure you’ve gathered all required info before you start filling out the form. Reach out to hoasubmittals@archplanreview.com if you have questions about the process.

Before you submit your application

  1. Review the Veramendi Design Guidelines and area declaration for your neighborhood (linked above). Reviewing the guidelines will give you more realistic expectations when working with your vendor. Even if your modification meets the guidelines, you still need review and approval before you begin any work. Then, contact APR if you still have questions.
  2. Plan a realistic timeline. Architectural Plan Review has 60 days from the date a completed application is submitted to review and provide a written response to the homeowner. Complete, clear, and thorough applications can be returned sooner.
  3. Don’t assume it will be approved. Even if your improvement meets the guidelines, you’ll still need approval before you begin any work. You may have noticed your neighbor made an exterior improvement, but that doesn’t mean it was approved nor that it will work for your home.
  4. Wait for the green light. It’s much easier to go through the design review process before you make a modification than to have to remove the modification at your own expense.

If you’re a Del Webb at Veramendi resident, contact AAM for your design review information.
