Thank you to everyone who joined us for Coffee with Cohere on Wednesday, Aug. 26. These casual conversations are an opportunity to connect with your Community Life team, ask questions and talk about what’s happening throughout Veramendi.
Couldn’t make it this time? Here’s a look at some of the topics we discussed.
Landscaping
What we heard
- Residents shared concerns about weeds in homeowner yards and common areas throughout the community.
- Questions were raised about dead trees in homeowner yards and common areas that have not yet been replaced.
- Residents shared concerns about consistency in community standards enforcement during the transition from the previous management company to the Community Life team.
- Residents asked about the timeline for planting trees outside Vista Alta to provide a more consistent look with the landscaping across the street.
What we shared
Due to the summer heat, we are not currently citing homes for dead trees. The Community Life team plans to begin working with homeowners on dead tree replacements starting in November.
We will also connect with the association’s landscaping and arborist partners to develop a resource for the resident website that can help walk homeowners through the process of replacing a dead tree.
How does compliance work?
What we heard
- Residents had questions about the compliance process, including how violations may progress to fines.
- Residents shared observations about differences in community standards enforcement between the previous management company and the Community Life team.
The Community Life team is working on a hands-on resident workshop focused on understanding community standards and the resources available on the resident website. Residents will be encouraged to bring a laptop, tablet or phone so we can walk through where to find the governing documents, how to navigate community resources and where the requirements referenced in compliance notices can be found.
More information about the workshop will be shared once details are finalized.
The Ledge
What we heard
- Residents shared concerns about pool safety and maintenance issues experienced throughout the summer.
- Residents asked about the status of repairs at The Ledge.
- Residents asked about damaged pool furniture and when those items will be addressed.
The catch basin pump has been replaced and is now working properly, restoring the zero-edge flow into the catch basin. The Community Life team will also be reviewing damaged furniture and tables at The Ledge and working to address those items.
A few quick updates
We also touched on a few other topics during the conversation:
Park fountains: The drinking fountains at Eleanor Park and Cowan Park have been repaired and are no longer leaking.
Pool steps: Reflective tape has been added to the steps at The Ledge to help improve visibility.
Catch basin pump: The pump has been replaced, and the zero edge that flows into the catch basin is working again.
